Invitation to
gALBA CENTRE LUNCHEONh
on 22 January, 2003
December,
2002
We are pleased to invite
you to the Alba Centre Luncheon to introduce the Scottish
initiative, the Alba Centre, aimed at driving the future of electronic design.
The Alba Centre is a unique collaboration involving
government, industry and academia in Scotland, focusing on the development of
complex electronic design, particularly System on Chip and System Level
Integration. This initiative includes the Virtual Component Exchange (VCX), the
Institute for System Level Integration (ISLI) and the development of the Alba
Campus to enhance its ideal R&D environment. The Alba Campus is still
developing rapidly as the new Alba Centre building on the Campus was officially
opened in March 2002. Since the inception of the Alba Centre, the industry in
Scotland has doubled, helped by investments from companies such as Cadence
Design Systems, Motorola, and Epson, as well as indigenous growth from
companies such as IndigoVision and Nallatech.
Within the framework of
this luncheon, Iain MacFadyen from ISLI and Tony Kirkham, a research engineer at
ISLI will give presentations on the current activities in the
Alba Centre and Scotland. Also, this program includes time to interact with the
speakers and representatives from the Scottish Development International. A
buffet will be served before the presentations.
