Call for Designs ASP-DAC 2005 University LSI Design Contest http://www.aspdac2005.com January 18-21, 2005 Hotel Equatorial, Shanghai, China January 18-21, 2005 Hotel Equatorial, Shanghai, China Aim of the contest: A unique feature of ASP-DAC 2005 is the University LSI Design Contest. The aim of the Contest is to encourage teaching and research of VLSI design at universities and other educational organizations. We invite submission of designs that fit in one or more of the following categories: (1) Integrated circuits designed and implemented on chips in universities and other educational organizations. (2) Designs that report actual measurements and implementations; and (3) Innovated design prototypes. The designers of selected designs will be invited to present their designs in a special session at the Conference. Awards will be given to outstanding designs among those selected. Suggested Areas of Design: (1) Analog, RF and Mixed-Signal Circuits; (2) Digital Signal Processing circuits; (2) Microprocessors, (4) Custom ASIC. Methodology or technology used for implementation may include : (a) Full Custom and Cell-Based LSI circuits; (b) Gate arrays; and (c) FPGA/PLD. Submission of Design Descriptions: A camera ready summary is required and is limited to two pages including figures, tables, and references. It is strongly recommended that experimental results and a chip micrograph be included in the submission. If the experimental results and the chip micrograph are not available at the time of submission, they can be submitted at a later date, but not later than September 15, 2004. Deadline for camera-ready: November 5 (Fri) 2004 Review: Submitted designs will be reviewed by the Design Contest Committee in a process similar to that for technical papers. The following criteria will be applied in the selection of designs: (1) Reliability of design and implementation, (2) Quality of implementation, (3) Performance of design, (4) Novelty of application, algorithm and architecture. Presentation: The author or one co-author of each selected design will be required to make a short presentation at a special session held for this purpose. The summary of each selected design will be included in the Conference Proceedings.
