You can enjoy live performances of Japanese harps. The Japanese harp is a traditional musical instrument from the olden days. Courtly tunes create a Japanese atmosphere for the listeners.
"The Hamakoi Dance" in the Yokohama Carnival in August is a famous summer image of Yokohama. With musical instruments on their hands, citizen's groups, each made up of more than 30 persons, compete in their elaborative costumes and their choreography. The number of participants increases every year since it started in 1998. Some strong participating teams started to appear in multiple events. You can feel and enjoy the powerful dance even in the convention and party venues.
